A soulful tribute to the enforcers of the game. We brought in our friend Gab to sing lead on this one. This ain't your average hockey or Zambonis song. Enjoy our brief detour of sound and style.

This song like many of ours came from playing in the basement. Rich (drummer) says we should have a song called "Penalty Box". We all grin. We start making up stuff and stumble into this soul groove & it immediately feels cool and right. I start making up a melody and singing dumb dumb lyrics and then something clicks. Then out comes the chorus- "don't (pause) put me in (pause) the penalty box again." Then we all smile and know we caught one. Rich and Swifty immediately add the responsive falsetto vocal hooks. Cary takes that first solo then Steve slides in for a Link Wray meets Issac Hayes solo on the step up. We got it. We like hockey but, we love writing songs.
Back to the song...
We find a cool twist. Instead of doing a song about a relationship, i.e. guy in the penalty box, it's written about the fighters of the game. It's a nod to them, but also the view of maybe they had enough of the box.
